Walmart is the first to test Twitter’s live stream shopping platform

Twitter is the latest social media platform to test the waters in the live commerce space. Twitter is conducting its first live shopping test in partnership with Walmart, where they’ll kick off Cyber ​​Week with singer, songwriter, dancer and social media star Jason Derulo for their first live shoppable stream on Twitter.

Starting at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday November 28th, people can watch and shop at @Walmart (on iOS and desktop), where Jason is playing a 30-minute variety show of electronics, housewares, clothing, seasonal decorations, and surprise guests moderated and much more.

Walmart has historically invested in live shopping by hosting events around the world on social platforms like TikTok and YouTube. In India, Walmart-owned Myntra recently announced its foray into social commerce via M-Live. The company says this charter is likely to appeal to around 50% of its monthly active users over the next 3-4 years.

Twitter is also rolling out the Twitter Shopping Manager and will begin testing a new way to accommodate retailer onboarding and product catalog management tools through the Twitter Shopping Manager. This gives merchants a single point of contact to manage how they appear on Twitter.
