Victoria Beckham shines in Studio 54-inspired briefs at Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding

Victoria Beckham was of course involved in the luxury fashion that unfolded at her son Brooklyn’s wedding to Nicola Peltz, but when it came to her own look, it was a VB special through and through.

Striking a sweet spot between sassy and classic, the queen of polished womenswear created a dress that looked effortlessly elegant without blending into the background. An evolution of her classic briefs (she wore a different version of British Fashion Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful’s Wedding), realized at a couture level, the fabric was inspired by the reflection of moonlight on the ocean at night. Developed exclusively by one of Beckham’s most popular Como mills, the effect is metallic, almost liquid, and absolutely stunning. Three carefully hand-cut French laces embroidered onto the shimmering fabric only add to the captivating effect.

There’s an element of nostalgia in the bespoke design, which Beckham’s design director, Lara Barrio, helped her refine for the big day in Miami. The cuddly yet sophisticated briefs evoke the glamor of 1940s Hollywood but with the cheek of the 1970s club scene. Think Studio 54 shades but with all the elegance of the Beckham brand.

On the arm of her husband David, adorned with Dior by close family friend Kim Jones, the couple looked like proud parents with a high fashion twist. Wedding style is tricky terrain, but when their lives are so intertwined with the industry, there wasn’t a chance the Beckhams wouldn’t bang it out the park for their son’s celebrations. Keep your eyes peeled at Victoriabeckham.com; The designer’s second dress – a black pre-fall number – will be available in June.
