The Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation is building a world-class dried fish processing industry in Cox’s Bazar and the government will extend tax exemptions to companies importing machinery or take initiatives for such an industry in the country, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim said today.
The minister made the comments during the inauguration of the dried fish processing industry’s office building being built by BFDC near the company’s fish distribution center in the city with the world’s largest untrimmed beach.
The prime minister is working tirelessly for the development of all people, and the government is taking numerous initiatives to modernize Cox’s Bazar, an iconic city in Bangladesh, he said.
BFDC Chairman Md Hemayet Hussain chaired the event, which was also attended by Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Yamin Chowdhury.
