Mushroom e-commerce brand Shroomboom celebrates launch with celebrity guests – vegconomist

Mushroom focused e-commerce brand mushroom boom has officially kicked off an event in LA designed to help guests “get the essence of what Shroomboom is.”

Celebrity guests like Google co-founder Sergey Brin, actress and entrepreneur Tallulah WillisFashion designer Alana Hadid, actress Clive standingBrex co-founder Henrique Dubugras and founder of Luma Beauty Jess Hart all performed at the event.

“Our mission with Shroomboom is to educate the world about the power of shrooms.”

Guests were able to sample a range of mushroom-based foods including burgers, jelly beans, bread and fondue. They were also invited to try on clothes and shoes made from or inspired by mushrooms. Even the music at the event was mushroom-based, connecting mushrooms to a sound system.

Promotion of mushroom-based innovations

Shroomboom was co-founded by Alejandra Rodriguez, who took psilocybin while recovering from an eating disorder, and Jennifer Parke, who is passionate about the health benefits of mushrooms. The brand encourages mushroom-based innovation across a range of sectors including beauty, health, food, fashion and sustainability.

The mushroom market

A report earlier this year indicated that mushrooms would be a key trend in 2022 after sales soared 16.1% to $420 million. This is the fourth year in a row that experts have identified mushrooms as a top trend, according to US collective The Mushroom Council. In February, a report predicted that the global mushroom market would reach $86.5 billion by 2027 and show a CAGR of 6.5%.

“Our mission with Shroomboom is to educate the world about the power of shrooms,” said Rodriguez. “We’re doing this by leveraging our magazine, The Boom, collaborating with mission-driven artists, thinkers, creators and brands, and bringing our own mushroom-based wellness and beauty products to as many people as possible!”
