Luxury brand Philipp Plein is now accepting cryptocurrency for sale
Luxury fashion brand Philipp Plein is now accepting cryptocurrencies as a means of payment both online and in its stores. Here is our contribution to the German designer to become the next crypto king.
The time many tech-savvy buyers have been waiting for has finally come. Cryptocurrencies have found their way into fashion consciousness. While many fashion designers and entrepreneurs are investing in crypto themselves, few have the courage to expand its use to their own businesses. But not, Philipp Plein, the German fashion designer who is known for his unusual designs. Two days ago, the designer announced to his 2.5 million followers on Instagram that the brand will accept 15 different types of cryptocurrencies as payment for their goods.
Working with Payment Getaway, Coinify, the brand is redirecting their crypto payments to their payments page to complete the purchase. Accepted cryptos are Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, BNB, Bitcoin SV, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Nano, OmiseGo, Paxos Standard Token, Qtum, Tron, TrueUSD, USD Coin, Tether ERC-20.
With this monumental decision, Philipp Plein hopes to make history and earn the nickname Crypto King. This new payment model suits the kind of dynamic, young clientele that Plein typically serves.
If you dig deeper, crypto and fashion were made for each other. In the recent past, brands like Prada, Cartier and LVMH have explored blockchain technologies in the fight against counterfeiting. Recently, Burberry, in partnership with Mythical Games, launched its first non-fungible token collection (NFT). These limited edition products, called Burberry’s B-Series, will be available for in-game purchases on August 11th through the Blank Block Party Marketplace. These technological riots in the fashion world are definitely something to watch out for.
