Dollar Shave Club Appoints New General Manager

The Dollar Shave Club (DSC) Board has named has Jason Goldberger becomes the brand’s new CEO effective January 19. Goldberger will report to the President of Unilever North America Fabian Garcia and will be part of the beauty and personal care organization, so one announcement.

“Jason [Goldberger] is a proven leader and seasoned CEO with a strong track record of leading brands and growth drivers, and the business is on an exciting upward trend, “said Sunny Jain, President of Unilever Beauty and Personal Care Worldwide and Chairman of the DSC- Board in the announcement.

Michael Dubin, who founded the brand in 2011, had previously notified the board of directors of his decision to leave his position as CEO and remain loyal to the company as a board member and special advisor.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be passing the torch on to Jason [Goldberger]. His experience, professionalism and leadership are second to none, ”Dubin said in the announcement.

Goldberger became part of DSC when it began its “omnichannel era”, the announcement said. In January, razors, shaving aids and skin care products will be available in stationary stores in the new brand revamp.

Dollar Shave Club, a lifestyle brand that offers grooming supplies and articles, was launched in 2011 to “deliver quality razors for a few dollars a month.” Since then, DSC has expanded its product lines to include hair care, body care, oral care, skin care and premium shaving aids.

Unilever is a global leader in beauty and personal care, food and refreshment, and home care products, with sales in more than 190 countries and serving 2.5 billion consumers daily. The portfolio includes brands such as Dove, Dollar Shave Club, Degree and Ax in the USA and Canada.

Last April, CEO of Unilever said in a television interview that “Coronavirus is not good news for Unilever”.

“Yes, we are seeing increasing demand for some hygiene products … We are definitely seeing a shift in demand. We’re seeing a sharp drop in out-of-home consumption of ice cream and restaurant products, ”said Alan Jope at the time.
