25 years later, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is still in vogue

We also saw shades of Buffy off the runways. During fashion month, a slew of street style stars looked like they could be students at Sunnydale High School (the set for the show). Take Julia Fox, who has been wearing head-to-toe leather looks all month; One of our favorite ensembles was at the Versace show when she showed up in a strappy look with a PVC skirt and crop top. it just shouting vampire slayer. (Although it’s admittedly more racy than what Gellar wore on the show). In a leather Balenciaga racing jacket and panty boots, Kim Kardashian also looked like Buffy if she had unlimited spending money.

But it wasn’t all about hard leather. As much as Buffy is a fighter, she’s also sweet and has a big heart. As such, she also had more light-hearted, feminine fashion moments. When she’s not killing vampires, she’s busy attending her high school proms or shopping at the mall like a normal teenager. On the show, we’ve seen her wear fitted slips or sequined tanks. This early aesthetic couldn’t be more hip right now, thanks to labels like Blumarine, Versace and Miu Miu reviving the look. As I scrolled through Anna Sui’s fall 2022 collection, I could immediately picture Buffy walking to class in Sui’s floral slip dress, complete with a cropped pink jacket trimmed with faux fur. (Buffy is a big coat girl.) While it’s doubtful that all of these designers pinned Buffy to their seasonal mood boards, there’s no denying that Buffy’s fashion sense continues to linger and still feel fresh. That or everyone’s secret Buffy fanatics. The same thing!
